
Recently, I redesigned the new folder for Webster University. It's a general folder that they use for a bunch of different stuff. I designed two different options. And, of course, they chose my least favorite one. The folder cover, shown above, was deemed "too whimsical". I'm not showing the one that was chosen because I'm not a big fan of it.
Designing something like this is tough for me because there really is no content to design around. They just said "Make a cover with the Webster logo." When given something like this, I usually tend to do a purely typographical solution so it can be exciting but remain pretty neutral. Use the school colors, make the word "Webster" big, and BAM you're done. Right? I guess not.
Oh well. I still kind of like it.
